A little bit of Paris, a little bit of New York, and a whole lot of French bistro charm have officially arrived in West Palm Beach.
Pastis opened its doors in West Palm Beach this past October. The celebrated French brasserie became a Manhattan institution before making its South Florida debut in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood in 2023.
The new spot marks the restaurant’s fifth location and serves as the signature dining destination inside the newly opened The Nora Hotel.
A New York icon in Palm Beach County
For those unfamiliar with its pedigree, the original Pastis opened in New York City’s Meatpacking District in 1999 under restaurateur Keith McNally. It quickly became a neighborhood fixture and celebrity favorite. After closing in 2014, it returned in 2019 through a partnership with James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr.
Its success eventually brought the brasserie to Miami. Here, it introduced Wynwood diners to its unmistakable blend of Parisian café culture and New York energy. It even won New Times’ Best Restaurant (Wynwood) in 2023.
Now, West Palm Beach gets its own slice of that magic. Located on the ground floor of the 201-room Nora Hotel, Pastis brings the familiar pleasures of a traditional French brasserie to one of the city’s fastest-evolving neighborhoods. Think classic French fare, lively conversation, crisp white tablecloths, and an atmosphere that encourages lingering over another glass of wine.
Steak frites, oysters, and a little Champagne
The menu doesn’t stray far from the classics that made Pastis famous. Diners can start with French onion soup, escargots, or a platter of fresh mussels. Then, they can move on to steak frites, the “Cheeseburger à l’Américaine,” or other French bistro staples.
For those who believe a proper French meal should begin with something bubbly, the restaurant serves cocktails, wine, and beer. Plus, plenty of options for a celebratory glass of Champagne or rosé.
A new chapter for West Palm Beach
Pastis’ arrival coincides with the debut of the Nora Hotel, a luxury property from hotelier Sean MacPherson and BD Hotels, the hospitality team associated with New York’s Hotel Chelsea and Bowery Hotel.
The hotel blends Palm Beach’s Mediterranean-inspired architecture with a moodier downtown New York sensibility, featuring a rooftop pool, Sisley Spa, and additional food-and-beverage concepts.
Beyond the hotel, Pastis becomes another major addition to the Nora District. It’s a developing neighborhood north of downtown West Palm Beach that’s transforming historic warehouses and surrounding blocks into a walkable destination for restaurants, shops, and hospitality.
For South Florida diners already familiar with the Wynwood location, the new Pastis offers another excuse to indulge in a leisurely French meal. For West Palm Beach, it’s a noteworthy new arrival in a dining scene that’s increasingly attracting big names.
