Our Founder.

Richard A. Raphael

1944 – 1998

RCC Associates, originally known as Raphael Construction Corporation, was founded in Chicago by Richard Raphael in 1971 and relocated to South Florida in 1981. Recognizing a demand for quality GC's in the market, Richard’s goal was to establish RCC as the top interior buildout specialist in South Florida. As the RCC team grew, Richard implemented systems within the company structure to ensure projects were consistently delivered on time, within budget and of the highest quality. He developed strong relationships with his clients and industry professionals, including the top performing subcontractors and craftsman in the area. It wasn't long before RCC Associates became recognized as a well-respected general contracting company with a high level of attention to detail, that any client could depend on. Richard lost his battle with cancer in 1998, and was succeeded by his wife, Beverly Raphael.

A five decade legacy.

  • 1971-1980

    Richard founded Raphael Construction Corp. in Chicago

    Kitchen and bathroom remodels specifically

    Late 70’s started building retail stores in Chicago, specifically in the Water Tower like Laura Ashley, Penningtons, JoAnn Fabrics

    Clients wanted us to build in Florida for them as well

  • 1981-1990

    Moved to Florida, with office of 5 people

    Building better retail Mayor’s, Benetton, Bruno Magli

    1983 Aventura Mall Grand Opening – Rick

  • 1991-1997

    RCC built high end retail at Bal Harbour Shops for Gucci

    Main focus on retail Yves St Laurent Madison Avenue, Ralph Lauren Worth Avenue, Versace, Chanel, Fendi, Martha’s, Café LEurope

    1993 Built our first The Cheesecake Factory in Coconut Grove and then Boca Raton (year?)

    Margaritaville, Planet Hollywood? (keys), - themed restaurants, rainforest café, all star café, Karl Lagerfeld showrooms

    Richard Raphael passed away

  • 2001-2010

    Beverly came in as President in 2000.

    Still building retail projects for Juicy Couture, Louis Vuitton, Mayor’s, Gucci - worth avenue?

    Started building more restaurants for The Cheesecake Factory, Uncle Julio’s,

    Built Miami hotels – what year?

  • 2011-2020

    After recession in 2008, we started focusing on building more restaurants – Rack’s restaurants, Gran Lux Café, Sun Life Stadium, Carolina Herrera, Apple, PF Chang’s, ballroom and restaurants at gulfstream park,
