Canadian concept Cactus Club Cafe in Miami
Cactus Club Cafe was started in 1988 in Vancouver, and has since spread to more than 30 locations across Canada. Now, almost four decades since its founding, the restaurant has entered the United States.
The first stateside location opened in Boston on Dec. 9, occupying a prime address in the Back Bay neighborhood. The second U.S. location is opening in the heart of Downtown Miami at Citigroup Center on Feb. 10.
Andrew Latchford, president of Cactus Club Cafe, explained that the brand’s U.S. launch strategy is to secure “Main-at-Main AAA locations in premium hospitality markets.” He said the Boston restaurant’s iconic real estate at 500 Boylston is already paying off, “outperforming projections and quickly becoming one of the city’s hottest reservations.” And he noted that “Miami’s energized hospitality scene is a perfect fit for the Cactus elevated everyday experience. Our high-profile location on Biscayne positions us as a dining destination for nearby professionals, Miami locals, and visitors.”

A Downtown Miami location is set to open February 10.
Each Cactus Club Cafe is uniquely designed to fit into its community, but they are all consistently upbeat and stylish. Art is a common thread throughout, with certain restaurants featuring originals by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The new Miami location will span more than 11,500 square feet and accommodate more than 280 diners across the open floor plan. There are massive indoor trees and custom lighting, plus commissioned art pieces and a large outdoor mural.
